While Tenerife makes a great option for the young party crowd, student travellers and families, it has plenty to offer the over 50s too. Towns such as La Guancha, located on the north west coast, are peaceful and beautiful with great facilities for cycling, horse riding and walking to make the most of the spectacular landscape. It’s worth hiring a car if you truly want to explore this area, as there are lots of pretty towns scattered about, visits to which add variety and experience to a holiday.
Los Gigantes, on the western coast of Tenerife, has fantastic accommodation perched atop stunning clifftop scenery. One perhaps for those looking for a more exclusive resort, a range of sophisticated restaurants and boutiques blend with the traditional town architecture and a pretty marina. Enjoy the boat trips which are popular in the area for experiencing the cliffs up close and even spotting dolphins!
